Wires that block the wires well
3/5

I am happy with the wiring blocking the A long scarf could be blocked very well with them. The edges of the scarf were nice and straight as a result. Unfortunately, the ends of the wires were rough, and so I marked them down. The ends had to be smoothed out with sand paper and I had to sit there for an hour to prevent them from catching the I'm sorry but that is not You should be able to use it just like that when you buy a product for blocking lace. thinks these are just TIG wires for welding, and I'm inclined to believe him. By purchasing Blocking Wires rather than TIG wire, I should be able to sand the edges for smoothness rather than having to sand them afterwards! I plan to use them for several years after I smoothed them out. After all, once they were smoothed they did work well for blocking my knitting.

The only downside is that you must sand the rough ends first
3/5

I wish I would have had these blocking wires when I was blocking my scarf last time. They will be useful to me, I am sure. In addition to the fact that the wire ends have burrs from being cut to length during manufacturing, the reason I gave this product three stars instead of five is because many other reviewers speak to this as well. It has forced me to spend 45 minutes manually sanding off the burrs in order to avoid snagging my yarn as I thread them through items that I have knitted. You can repeat these steps with the other end of the wire. I think this product would get better reviews if it included a 2 star Adding a second sanding step to your manufacturing process would allow you to remove the burrs created by cutting, so that your customers won't have to do this at home after purchasing. The rough ends are the reason for virtually every negative review This needs to be fixed! Wake up and do something about it!.

Staples with rough stamped ends tend to snag knitting projects
3/5

The 12 36" rigid wires in this kit are 1/16" ER308L TIG Filler Rod, cut off the ends and ground smooth, and work as expected. However, they are not blocking wire at all, but standard welding rod at a greatly inflated price. This wire is rigid enough to block square pieces, but it can also be bent for an armhole or neckline despite saying "rigid. " * * The two 24" wires appear to be 0. 25. This is TIG welding rod, but first you will have to fix the ends if you intend to use it.

Lace cannot be made without it
5/5

Blocking lace is made easier with these. It appears some of the rods were bent from my handling, but I think that's due to my efforts. The opening in my lacework has improved significantly since I bought these rods. In addition to the pins, there will be more lace needles required for large projects. The rods came with a box of Knitpicks' pins in addition to the pins that came with them.

They are perfect for fixing runs in knitted lace, so buy them and use them without hesitation
3/5

It would have been useful for me if I cut off the ends of the wires and rounded There is a crimp at the ends, and there are snags on some of the tubes. The wires in my shawl caused a run in my lace at the center of the longest edge. I just finished this beautiful lace shawl in fingering weight merino. My attention was drawn to it only after the shawl was stretched. There were three stitches that had fallen at least four rows down. It is heartbreaking for me and I wish that these wires could be wrapped around me. Okay, I got it. I can fix them with my husband, but if I had thrown them in the garbage when they arrived, this might not have happened.

Wire blocking set of the best quality
5/5

So many blocking sets have been tried before, but this one worked very well for me. To wet block a large knit blanket and shawl, I had to wash them in cold water. There was decorative edging on both of these projects that made some blocking methods difficult. Though I own 300 T-shirts, this was the hardest to block. With this set of pins already included, I already had everything I needed neatly packaged in a tube that I still carry around with me to this Priced reasonably for all that was included, the set was a good value for the money. As I have used this blocking set for a variety of projects, I have not experienced any rust forming on the wires or "memory" appearing on As far as flexibility goes, I have not encountered any obstructions on a circle project (no circular projects allowed). These wires have returned to their original straight status once removed from the project. I have been very pleased with my.

I think these are fantastic
5/5

My favorite part of the blocking wires is the color. No matter what kind of fiber you use, they work beautifully. Every little detail looks great after blocking. I'd buy these as gifts for family and friends. Then you should check them out.

There was a one-point deduction due to the heavier wires bending after blocking the scarves
4/5

While blocking the infinity scarf I knitted with bulky yearn, I found these blocking wires to be very effective. Each side of the scarf was blocked with one of the heavier blocking wires and then the T-shaped wire was used to finish it off These are supposed to be held in place by pins. I noticed that the wires were slightly bent after I took the scarf out of the dryer and let it dry completely. The cost of these 24 cents was very disappointing for me. I pinned the wires in place so that the sides of the scarf were straight. I did not pull too tightly on the wires while pinning.
