Questions & Answers
Yes, it's made of plastic, but it's incredibly smooth and flexible (and it also swivels). You can get rid of the "curls" by soaking it in hot water, stretching it straight, and then running it under cold water right after. This is how I use all of my circular cords, and it works great.
I haven't had any problems with blunt tips, but I haven't used very fine yarn either. I can see how that might be a problem.
This is what I wrote to CloverUSA about it: br>"Yes, all of the cords and needles are available for purchase individually on our website. They're available on Amazon as well. It's a combination of cable and needles.

When knitting in black, brown, or other dark colors, the needles are simply too dark for me to see the stitches. That's why I needed a light-colored bamboo circular needle set, and these fit the bill perfectly! The needle finish is smooth but not slick, preventing stitches from being dropped. Because of the light color, I can use any color yarn I want, and the bamboo is nice and light. The needle length is also a plus for me. And I have to say, these are the best cables I've ever used. I have the Knitter's Pride and Hiya Hiya sharps, and these cables are by far the best. No kinks. They're extremely adaptable and simple to work with. It'll be a piece of cake to complete the magic loop. I've been knitting a scarf for the past week, and the stitches have never come loose. I can't comment on the durability or long-term viability at this time. I will update this review if anything happens. br>br>I also like the case. Everything has its place, and everything is in its place! Storage space is plentiful. br>I only wish there were sock needles available, but I suppose I can make do with what I have. ) However, I prefer to knit on light-colored bamboo. br>If you're debating whether or not to buy this set, do so now. They're well worth the money!.
I adore my Clover straights, but when it came time to replace them, I did far more research than was necessary. Nothing irritates me more than wanting to start something but lacking the necessary tools or having issues with the ones that are available. 9 needle sets and 5 different length cords are included in this set. The seams are extremely smooth. I've never had a problem with cords loosening, but I do check them on a regular basis. This appears to be a problem with EVERY set - It is, after all. They're in your hands all the time, moving around a lot. The needles are absolutely fantastic. Magic loop is a breeze to play because there are no splinters, sharp points, or flexible cords. Beginners and advanced knitters alike will love this set! My purchase has made me extremely happy!.
The needles are well-made, the case is attractive, and the cords are quite flexible and use the magic loop method. The only drawback was that within two weeks of ordering my set, the price had dropped by nearly $40. Note: To join the tips, you'll need a length of nine. 5 cm for needles ranging in size from US 3 to 10 1/2 (3. Between 25mm and 6mm 5 mm), but it's a tenth of a millimeter For US sizes 8, 13 and 15, add 5 cm to the length. 15 (eight millimeters, nine millimeters, and ten millimeters) 10mm). I wish they were all a little longer, but that is purely a matter of taste. There is no yarn snagging because the tips are clearly marked in both US and metric sizes. The included sizes are large enough to accommodate most of my knitting and are quite comfortable to use.
Knitting with these needles is a breeze. The connections, on the other hand, are constantly coming undone, snagging the yarn at best and dropping stitches in the middle of rows at worst. Given the set's price, I didn't expect to consider putting a lifeline every few rows to protect the connection from failure. It's very discouraging when hours of work are lost!.
The seamlessness of the join on this set, on the other hand, pleasantly surprised me. The tips are extremely durable and have a longer tread to prevent accidental unscrewing. I really like the size combinations, and they're a lot of fun to knit with. Definitely worth the money, and I plan to add more cords and tips to my collection. My only gripe (more of a suggestion) is that I wish they offered smaller needle tips (sizes 0 to 2) as well as larger needle tips (sizes 17). They should be available in the near future, hopefully.
I used them for the first time while knitting a. The needles were a nightmare to deal with. When I first used them, I was knitting a blanket with 203 stitches on a size 48" 10 12 needle when the bamboo needle separated from the plastic tubing at the metal connector, causing a 30 stitch drop. I thought I was ready to go after supergluing the two pieces together. Unfortunately, the plastic tubing eventually separated from the unglued needle, resulting in a 17-stitch drop. br> At this point, I purchased a regular 48" 10 12 circular needle and never used any of the other needles in the set again.
These needles are great, but they're about an inch too short for me. These are lovely, smooth needles that don't snag, but they're about an inch too short for my hands; I have normal hands and wear size 7 gloves, but when I hold these, my hands are gripping the connecting wires, which is awkward and uncomfortable. I've only knitted a few small items, so I'll keep using them to see if I can adapt. I haven't had any problems with the wires unthreading like some others have. It's a lovely case. It's made of vinyl, with a zipper closure and a snug elastic band to keep the needles in place. The cords are kept in a plastic ziplock bag in a pocket. I love that I can choose from a variety of cord lengths! Overall, it's a fantastic collection.
When they arrived a few days ago, I immediately transferred the project I was working on to them, and they've been ecstatic. The tips are nicely tapered, not too sharp or dull, the connection is smooth and solid, I'm not concerned about the wire slipping off, and the needle length is comfortable in my hands. I also like how the bamboo holds the yarn, but this may not be a benefit if you prefer slippery needles (I'm sure there's a term for this). I'm looking forward to using these in all of my upcoming projects!.
