I'm aware that experienced knitters frequently switch between brands of knitting needles depending on the project at hand. ChiaoGoo knitting needles are preferred by many lace knitters. I recently used them to make a fingering weight lace shawl and was very pleased with how well they worked. These needles are extremely tough and durable, with pointed tips that don't pierce your skin. The cords are supple and smooth. These needles have a place in my heart.
It's a matter of personal preference, but if you look closely at the photos, you'll notice that the needles are bent about an inch away from the cable's beginning. It took me a while to get used to this because the needles had to be held at just the right angle to avoid interference from the bend. I'm not fond of it. The needles, on the other hand, are fantastic.
I like how smoothly the cable glides and how it doesn't curl in. The needles are silky smooth and allow for quick movement. The needles are also long enough to make holding them very comfortable. My 9" Addi needles were too big for me and I had to pinch them with my fingertips. I guess I have big hands: ) However, due to no fault of the needles, 100 cm of cord is far too long to pull through repeatedly, and it quickly becomes irritating. Trying to do both at the same time didn't work for me either. I love it so much that I ordered an 80cm version of the same needle.
I bought these after hearing about them on a podcast, and I'm glad I did. They're fantastic. The tips are pointed, which is exactly what I need for socks, especially patterns. I was looking for a nickel-free sock needle to replace my old ones. So far, they've avoided bothering my hands. All of my sock knitting will be done on these needles.
Pros: br>Smooth needle-to-cable connection. br>br>Lightweight and flexible cord with no memorybr>br>Cons: br>Because the tips are too sharp, they easily split yarn. br>br>Rough needles with a scraping sound and feel that detract from knitting enjoyment! This is extremely upsetting to me!.
These long circular needles are ideal for magic loop in sock knitting. So far, I've purchased two of these. The cable is flawless, and the tips are razor-sharp for picking up yarns.
I love these needles, especially the cord, and I use them to knit socks in the magic loop style, which requires a lot of bending of the cord. It always snaps back into shape, and the needle points are razor sharp. Socks and ice are a match made in heaven!.
I bought these rescue needles, but I prefer ChiaoGoo circular needles in general because they don't have a cabl; e memory, as well as the quality of those memories Although there are less expensive brands available, they are well worth the money at just over $10.
