Those are the same as the metal hooks I got. Although it looks better than the one that comes with the first rainbow loom kit, it doesn't perform any better than the original. If you go to Michael's on Saturday, you will see the circle on the boxes, and some will come with metal hooks
Though you could do this, I don't believe it would be as effective. There is just something more intuitive about this hook.

Sadly, the one they were most fond of no longer exists. However, every box has a different hook, and some boxes don't have any hooks. As a result, I could not tell you which box you purchased.
It has a small mini loom and a metal hook with a plastic handle in order to be used as an upgrade kit. It is the only hook my kids use with all their loom kits, and it fares better than all others I have seen. Despite its positive reviews, my son "the rainbow loom master" wasn't delighted with this. There is a metal tip to the product, but it is only metal at the tip. I don't know if the metal tip will come unglued from the plastic handle since the designs that my son is now doing have complicated shapes. Many of the bracelets he makes call for a lot of bands to be hooked in a row. This puts considerable pressure on the Until now it has held up, but we will have to see if it will stand.
I wanted the handle to be green, so I chose one in that color. Neither the hook nor the curve of the hook is too large or too small. I love the texture of the hook. It's just the right amount of "slippery" for holding what I am working on and giving me freedom to move.
I purchased this for my little brother so he could use it with his loom. My husband uses the blue item most (don't know what it's called) and I don't know if he uses the green hook at all he says he can use his finger to do it, so for 4 bucks it's decent.
