This machine is easy to use, you can make numerous hats in less than two hours, but I had a hard time using it when I attempted panel knitting. The first panel I made turned out really nice the second panel I attempted didn't work. In fact, I noticed that the crank grinds some of the plastic into fine with me. Although it doesn't affect the machine right now, I could see it becoming a problem I highly recommend it to people who are first-time.
Be aware that panels are nearly impossible to create on this machine. Getting the yarn where you need it takes a lot of time, patience, and working very slowly, and then the stitches will still be messed up. Changing the direction is not smooth, there are catches every few rotations, and it feels like some areas of the plastic are stuck. It was a very noisy event as well. No instructions were provided on how to use the legs, just how to assemble them. You can only really achieve the desired result with US size 3 or sports weight yarn. The pros are Once you figure out how to thread your yarn, making hats and scarves is easy with the tube setting. a lot more cons than pros in this case as you can see. Though it might take some time to figure out how to use something it shouldn't take months to get it to work in the first place it's advertised as creating panels when it does just what it says, especially given this is intended for a kid. It is highly recommended that you watch YouTube videos to figure out how to use it , I might just be too inexperienced to do so.
About 1/4 of the suction cups work sometimes. I have a machine whose legs are flemsy and torques. The 2nd and 3rd needle drop yarn when I do panel setting, and the 3rd needle will always use my yarn and does not turn over, so I have to pull the yarn each In any case, knitting is much faster with this machine. The first thing you have to do is choose an instructional video on youtube on how to cast properly using the tubular or panel method, but once you have it down, it's quite simple. Due to the fact that my third needle gets stuck, the panel setting is definitely harder for my machine. Nevertheless, patience will be rewarded, and the hat or scarf will turn out just as you expected. *Route setting requires you to pull the yarn tight at the beginning and the end of your row.
I just started using a manual (push button) row counter to use with this machine because otherwise it is more problematic to return it for an alternative (potentially broken). *TEXT FROM *ORIGINAL It's so frustrating! I opened the box and found that the row counter was broken. Also, I was so excited about the purchase that I am not sure if I wish Hopes that are so high and so high. After missing the first few rows, the counter would work for a couple of rows, and then it would stop. At the exact moment when the counter should be turning over, you can hear an audible "miss. ". This video shows how to do it. The wheels turned smoothly after a minute or two. I pushed the split yarn slowly and used my crochet hook to move it when My counter broke for no apparent reason. I'm very upset about it.
The drill I connected to my drill allowed me to make 12 hats in 2 days. I overpushed the counter and it stopped working, but it is a plastic machine, and is not meant to keep up with my demands. Until winter, my goal is to make as many hats as I can for the homeless population in my area, so this works for me. The material seems to churn out warm, durable, and fast hats, so I have no complaints. It doesn't vary a lot from one to another though, and it's clear what you make from it isn't handmade.
The bus arrived earlier than I Totally satisfied with my purchase!.
It was damaged in the box when I received it, and it didn't appear to have damaged the machine, but I think it must have because it is hard to use, it drops stitches, and it seems to catch with each However, they would not accept it as a return.
This knitting machine would be a great choice for anyone looking to purchase a knitting machine. The knitting machine was supposed to include a tension lever but my knitting machine does not have one. I am still very pleased with it however.
