Upon taking a close look at my hooks, I discovered I was using an offset hook for this project, so I searched for an inline hook of the same size. Well, I didn't find one inline hook of the correct size in about 30-something hooks. This hook was purchased in order to see if it would make any It was incomprehensible to me how after receiving this hook and starting to use it with this yarn, the splitting problem were nearly gone. The stitch will usually attempt to split every now and then, so I simply roll up and redo it. The thing is, this happens very rarely. Stephanie's statement that you should change your tool if you are having problems with the yarn you are working with has convinced me that this hook is exactly the right tool for the job. It is this style of hook that I will be purchasing more of. Sadly, I have only one complaint the molded grip is a little too far back on the hook for the small hands that I have. They should move that a little closer to the hook tip to make it even more perfect.
Despite loving to crochet, I had arthritis in my hands and often had to alter my grip to compensate. Many hooks are just too short, and they hit the edges of my palms or dig into my palms, making it difficult for me to hold them. It caught my eye that Silvalume Soft handle hooks were available and I decided to give it a try. The hook has become one of my favorites! longer handle allows me to properly grip the hook, which increases my crochet time! When purchasing this hook, I was quite aware that it was not a rubber or squishy handled hook or a handle with foam for comfort. The grip material is smooth and almost suede-like. Although it's not soft, I would definitely call it a soft sound. There's still no denying the difference in length! Finding these hooks has been a wonderful experience for me.
I really wanted to replace my old hooks, Boye brand (I'm sorry Boye) and the yarn does not split at all with this one. It is easier for me to move faster and more consistently. doesn't get tired or cramp and I don't have to take breaks for a long time, I can crochet for hours at a time now. I am self-taught and beginner to intermediate at crocheting and I love using this hook. It would have been great if I had used this hook all the time I would absolutely recommend it.
For years, I have struggled with carpal tunnel syndrome and have tried to find products that are more comfortable for me to use. Almost everything I enjoy doing can be draining on my wrists, be it painting, drawing, writing, etc. I hadn't crocheted for quite some time and was nervous about taking on that challenge on top of all I do. The regular Susan Bates hooks had been my go-to hooks in the past, so I was pleased to see I have found it to be very effective. Although I could not find any of these in the larger hook sizes, I am sure if someone out there has any.
My crochet hook is too long for me to hold the soft handle, so I have a hard time working with it while crocheting. Consequently, the ergonomic characteristics of the product are lost. There may be people who would benefit from it. I, however, do not want to be part of it. The 4mm and the 6mm were ordered from a dealer. Both hooks are covered in this review.
this hook today and am extremely disappointed by the fact that it appears to be defective. When working with the hook, it has this strange side grab to it that makes the yarn stick to itself the hook is so sharp that I imagine it will cut me, and it also splits the yarn. Apparently, this is the second Susan Bates hook I have received in the past month that is this sharp. The money I spent on it was definitely not worth it, and I will never use it. It will not be a happy situation for the crochet community if this continues. It is your responsibility to buy.
The full length of the article is six words. You should write the 5 instead of It is specified in the description as being "5". There are no doubts that the grip is very securely attached, and the hook reaches the end of the grip as well If the grip was not fully slid on, I would think it wasn't completely slid on. Despite its lack of ergonomics, the crochet hook still does its job as a crochet hook. In the comparison picture, the ergonomic hook has a tapered shape.
At a local store I bought a Susan Bates Silverlume crochet hook, which I really liked. Both of these books came from Amazon a bit different than what was described. I found that the crochet hook I bought at the store stuck more than the one This means they didn't handle it as comfortably as they did the last time. Other than that, it is a pleasure.
