Questions & Answers

What weight yarn can this wind handle or would bulkier yarn cause it to jam?

As long as you watch the yarn carefully (for all weights) because I sometimes the guide slips when I used bulky wool. kept my hand on it (which I had to do anyway since. ). I had mounted it on a tabletop I had.

If I'm left-handed, is this machine going to be difficult for me to operate or is it easy to use both hands easily?

As a lefty, I am also lefthanded. As for me, nothing to worry about. All you need to do is clamp it to the left side of the table. The guide arm CAN be locked into the right position if the user carefully jiggles it out until it catches before shuffling it in. This little device is great.

What do you think of this yarn winder, or do you know of one that's better?

You can count on it to do the job. It has not caused any problems for me. Electric winders are on the market, and they are more efficient than the traditional ones.

What is this machine for? Is it a loom that makes yarn out of ?

You get skeins of yarn when you buy wind.

HOLY COW, WHERE HAS THIS BEEN MY WHOLE As I admit, I sometimes have a bit of a fuzzy mind
5/5

The other day, I was winding my bazillionth ball of yarn BY HAND when I started thinking how much money I might make if I invented some sort of gadget that would actually wind the yarn for me. Could you possibly make it so I could turn it with a handle? Then, before I could even choose the carpet color for the new house I would soon be building with all that money, a friend of mine cleverly informed me that she was pretty certain the same "invention" already existed. It has been around quite a while and has been replicated in several different forms. That's dense, as I said! I had no idea what they were talking about. Therefore, let me tell you I do a search on Google. Marrywindix Wool Winder here to solve all your problems! This device is portable, affordable, and works great! This inventor deserves every penny they earned from it since I have no doubt they changed knitters' and crocheters' lives all over the world by inventing this. As a set A simple and quick way to set up Finding the best way to hold the item is relatively easy it takes a couple of tries to figure it out It takes only a few minutes to wind an entire 8 ounce skein of yarn! You will no longer have to wind, wind, wind your watch manually, which will reduce stress on your arms and hands. The ball is dropped across the floor while being chased. There is more winding, more winding, more I think you get the idea Right? None of us have escaped it, have we? You probably have more yarn than you know what to do with sometimes if you're a serious knitter or crocheter. The night before Christmas I decided to make everyone in my family an afghan, and I was almost literally buried in yarn by the time I chose patterns and bought all the yarn! Easy-to-use tool helps you keep your home neat and tidy I found using winder to be a life-saver and I'm certain it will be for you as well! We will wind and organize your yarn in a neat, orderly manner Using this method is SO easy and saves so much time when you need it. With a center pull string that just pulls out "like buttah," it winds up! You will love it, you will love it, you will.

If you don't mind working your arms a bit, then this winder is the one for you! Especially for the price, I wound over 300 balls of yarn with it in just a few weeks and it did an excellent job
4/5

When you wind it too fast, it will slip. Keep it at a comfortable, steady pace, and it will be an absolute The bonnet separates, so you can easily wash it if you accidentally get yarn fibers It worked perfectly for me, with the only issue being that the yarn guide didn't stay in place and kept falling, but that was easily fixed with a foam pencil grip inserted between the base and the arm, which held The next time I buy, I will certainly do so! It took about two hours of straight winding to take this picture.

It has one quick fix and is a fantastic yarn winder
5/5

I really like this product and it does exactly what the manufacturer said it would A yarn winder makes cakes out of yarn. When I start any project, I wind my yarn before I start working on it, because there is nothing worse than having to detangle a skein in the middle of it, or worse still, having to cut the yarn in an awkward location. The one thing I have noticed is My understanding is, and I've read and heard a lot about this, is that the arm threading the yarn collapses a lot while wearing it. You can easily fix this with a quick fix You may keep your arm up as long as you wish, if you so desire If you fully extend the arm and position it in a vertical position, affix a bit of the sticky stuff As for the base of the arm, I attached backed craft foam paper to it (and wound some tape around it to hold Neither the arm nor the shoulder will.

When you're in a hurry, it will do

It was actually the reason I started a return on this item, the yarn guide would not I then went through and read some reviews and learned that you really have to pull it out in order to make it stick. It was just perfect for me, so Depending on what the manual says, it may work as well as it should (I have never used a wool winder before). We are not thrilled with how the yarn guide and clamp designs are constructed. The yarn would slip off the bottom and get caught in the gears even when I wound slowly with a bit of tension. there will be a learning curve - but it is the lowest price 'entry' level winder out there, so I have to accept it as However, I will be searching for better employment opportunities.

You don't have to pay more if you don't have to
5/5

As far as this winder is concerned, there looks to be no difference between it and other winders that have the same or similar appearance. When I set this one up, I made sure to put just a touch of force on the metal piece that sticks out well before beginning. To test how much of a skein of Caron Simply Soft (6oz) I could wind, I made a first cake. In the end, it amounted to about 75 percent It soon became obvious that going steady at a medium pace was superior, as well as creating a slight tension between my thumb and first finger as the yarn made its way through the metal eyelet. The set-up and use of this product is relatively simple. Keeping the pace slow is all you need to do. As I wanted to be able to cake the Full Skein yarn, I decided to cut out a 6 inch circle (3 inch diameter) of lightweight cardboard, made a roughly 1 inch hole in the center, and inserted the yarn into it. A 5 inch (3/4 inch) circle was cut in the center of the first circle, and then 1mm slots were cut around the inside of the second circle to ensure a cardboard toilet paper roll could be placed inside My next step was to go around the outside of the doughnut and make one cut - Shaped the piece around the center hole, overlapping the two sides of where I had just cut, taped it in place and then curved the edge just a little inward (or outward, whatever, it doesn't matter). There is still a risk of yarn catching if the edge of the outer ring is not completely smooth, so be aware. By doing so, I was able to roll two full skeins of yarn onto two cardboard rolls in a relatively simple manner. In that case, you can put the toilet paper on the winder first, then put the doughnut on after that. The slots you cut into the inner ring of the doughnut should hold onto the cardboard roll, and this should prevent the roll from rolling upward while you wind it.

There is no point in buying, it does not work
3/5

This product makes me feel extremely unsatisfied and I honestly don't know why the developers made it all the way to 3 stars. There is no such thing as a working computer! Every damn time I try to weave my yarn, it gets stuck, and I'm so frustrated right now that I feel like smashing I always wind my yarn in the gears every single time I use it! ALMOST EVERY TIME! As I sit here in the middle of the ball, I'm taking the damn thing apart to save the yarn I'm using! Now that I'm using the old way, it seems I will be using it again.
