James Thompson 9.3 oz. Canvas Duck Stone by the Yard

Made a slipcover from this fabric for my cedar chest bench seat after washing and drying it. The total purchased was three yards, but only one was used. Just as I was about to finish sewing it, I noticed a palm-sized black spot on the fabric On the piece I was using there is a small spot with a slight discoloration that is quite noticeable when the cover is finished. Based on closer examination of the fabric, it appears that its entire length is unevenly dyed and not colorfast, indicating that all 3 yards are of similar It was disappointing to find this out after finishing the project. Apart from that, the fabric is extremely dense and has a nice weight.

People have complained that the picture doesn't match the color of the item, and the seller has responded that the picture was There was something wrong with it, and I have no idea what it was. The texture of this is actually quite light compared to creamy peanut butter, and even lighter than the seller picture I've overlaid in the top right corner.

It is a very nice red piece of canvas that is thick and heavy. As part of her Mary Poppins costume, my daughter wore it as a red corset. There was no need for boning, and it turned out beautifully. As you can see, I didn't tie it tightly to my 3-foot shoe A corset made of it would be great for this, but if someone wanted to make one from it, it would be good for that as well There are no stretches in it, and it has a dense and structured appearance.

Arrived quickly and looks good at first glance. Ordered 3 yards of black and received it quickly. My mother picked it up this morning and hemmed the cut edges (to prevent fraying), then I tossed it in the washer to pre-shrink it. The item was just taken out of the washer and thrown in the dryer about 15 minutes ago, when I noticed a faded area (which was not there before We spread out the material and saw that the dye washed out in large areas, causing those sections to turn a dark orange, much like the reaction between black fabric and diluted bleach. This washer has had no bleach in it for years and the last load of laundry was a run of black clothing that shows no sign of fading or running. The dye lot here is obviously bad and this appears to be an ongoing problem with this seller, based on customer reviews I'm reading. The attempt to save a few bucks has backfired and I'll need to run to the local fabric store and pay even more than I would have if I'd been more diligent when I did that to begin with.

The fabric had a nice texture and weave. It was very easy to work with as well. As I haven't washed it prior to this, I am not sure how the fabric will react. I hope it won't cause any problems. I may buy more in the future By the way, in the description it It says somewhere that it's 7 oz thick and at another place it states 10 oz. Though I don't know how thick it would be, I didn't think it was as thick as 10 oz from my experience, but it's a The product is excellent. I would buy it.

After two months it is so faded it is not even the same color as when it was brand new. You can see in the picture that everything is in order. While I succeeded in installing it on my front windows today, I noticed that the side railings that I installed two months ago have completely faded to the point that they appear Buy this fabric at your own risk. Interpret tonalities. Even after it had been washed once in warm water with gentle detergent to preshrink, it came out faded and mottled, as if it had been subjected to acid. Jeans that have been washed. Though it is thick and sturdy, the fabric is quite thin.
