Questions & Answers
Before you buy, see how dense the insulation is. I believe it comes in 4 lbs per square foot, 6 lbs, and 8 lbs per square foot. This will affect how quickly heat travels through the insulation. Also, because it's a bulky item, look for free shipping. It also comes in a variety of types.
Yes, it withstands heat well, but it dislikes getting wet.
"Work as an insulating layer for a pizza oven" is a phrase I'm unfamiliar with. It's a big one. It's made of heavy-duty insulation that can be layered. Mine is installed in a gas fireplace, where it performs admirably as an insulator. I believe it would work well in a pizza oven, depending on what it is insulating from.

And, unlike fire bricks, this insulation does not crack (or in this case, tear) over time and requires replacement. Its light weight and flexibility make it much easier to install than fire bricks, saving time and effort. br>br>In my small foundry, 1" of this material has withstood temperatures above copper melting temperatures (2,000°F, 1,100°C) multiple times without showing any signs of wear, though heat loss is only slightly noticeable at these temperatures, so I definitely recommend using 2" for temps this high. I will definitely use this insulation for other high-temperature projects in the future.
To replace broken wood stove baffles, I purchased this roll of ceramic 'blanket. ' It's rated for a high temperature, so there's no need to be concerned about it breaking down or burning. It was simple to take measurements for the correct panel size and then cut the panel with the provided knife. DO USE nitrile gloves (or something similar) and DO CUT IN THE GARAGE OR OUTSIDE; cast off was not an issue, but the material sheds a little when cut. If there's a lot of wind, wear a mask. Oh. And, finally, to appease the AI that offered me advice: warmth, affordability, and simplicity br>I'm not sure how the AI came to the conclusion that'sheerness' was appropriate for this product, and I'm not laying beneath it. But it's great for the stove, so go ahead and get it. br>br>With just one roll of material, you can replace four "standard" baffle panels. The "normal" panels range in price from $30 to $100. 40 each(! It cost less than $30 to make this roll. So. 75% savings and just as effective if not more so if not more so if not more so if not more so I was pleased to see that the material restored the stove's original functionality. When you've used a wood stove for a while, you'll be able to tell when it's working properly. When it's just getting started, you can see and smell the difference between it and when it's burning efficiently. While I believe the material will last a long time, I would not hesitate to purchase it again. br>br>Overall, I am completely satisfied with my purchase. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: I've been using it for a couple of weeks now. It does exactly what you want it to. I've included a photo of a real fire in the stove to demonstrate that the 'blanket' is adequate for the job.
This is a great blanket to have if you need something to keep you warm. In my workshop, I put in a pellet stove. Because the inner/outer walls were steel, I cut a hole in the regular insulation and wrapped a good three layers around the vent pipe; the blanket is not "tough," so if you muscle it too hard, it will tear. It's designed to be cut and placed with care. There are probably more applications for this product than I can think of, but it worked perfectly for my project.
I'm constructing a new forge. With just a few keystrokes, I was able to accomplish what I needed this time. I didn't think I'd build another forge because of this one item when I built the first one. It was not carried by anyone in town. The majority of people had no idea what it was or how it worked. It took me two months to get it, a lot of miles driven, which meant a lot of gas, and a lot of phone calls to explain what I wanted. what it was intended to be used for It was 60 miles away in another city when I couldn't find it locally or find someone who knew what I was looking for. state. For the same amount of material, I paid twice as much. But not with Amazon; they had it, and I placed an order for it. It arrived on time, and I couldn't be happier with the service.
The best flame shield for soldering copper pipes by a long shot. When in direct contact with flame, all of the other flame shields melt. This one can be used to completely encircle the pipe, and it is unaffected by direct flame contact. I even soldered right up against PVC with no damage to the PVC. It appeals to me.
I went to my local wood stove store to check prices and they were out of sight, even for one that would fit. I can get three pieces for a third of the price, and they are the same type of product with the same ratings, with this purchase.
Great product, but use it with caution if you don't want to coat it. Lung cancer can be caused by the dust from ceramic fiber blankets. This is a tough product that can withstand the heat. It was up to 2500 degrees F in my forge when I had this raw. No problem at all! I'd buy it again if I had the opportunity.
This was purchased to replace the lining in my forge. I was not let down. Even in extreme temperatures, it holds up well. br>br>Heat transmission is minimal to non-existent. On the inside, it appears to take a little longer to heat up, but I can't say for sure if that's due to the material. br>br>I'd highly recommend it as a low-cost replacement liner or, I suppose, for custom fabrication.
