These kiln posts are exactly 4" long and 1 5/8" by 1 5/8" (about 43 mm) in size. Because mine are already in use, I measured after several coats of kiln wash.
They support my inner shelves with ease when I get the kiln to cone 5 (1800F).

These are exactly what I needed in terms of kiln posts. The order arrived quickly, and the items were exactly what was described. 5x1. 5x4 new posts for Olympic kiln, which I tested and found to work as expected; At cone 5, there were no cracks or discoloration, and it supported the weight of both bisque and glaze firings. These are the posts I recommend because they can be stacked one on top of the other. 3" to increase the height of the posts as needed. The price is unbeatable, and the versatility is unbeatable.
These stilts are ideal for my kiln because they're thick enough to keep the kiln shelves from falling over. It's also useful to have eight because the shelves can be made more sturdy.
For eight pieces, this is a good value.

This is a set of kiln posts that did not explode at cone 6. I wouldn't change a thing about this product.
