Questions & Answers
It has no effect on genuine gold or silver. It only takes a small amount of rubbing to scratch it.
A single stone can be used by everyone. That's all there is to it. Different acids for each. Once you've completed the test, simply wipe it away. and you're ready to go. The only difference is that different acids are required for each stone. They're fine if they're not too expensive. There is no need for a large, extravagant one. To test them all, I use a single stone. Only the acids are different.
Each one is 1 7/8" x 1 7/8" in size.
Just a smidgeon on the stone, but not quite. You should already be aware of the basics. br>I'm afraid I can't be of much assistance. br>Nice stones, though, because they have rubber on the bottom and don't move around as much as the others that don't. br>On these, there isn't a lot to know. Scratch your piece and cover it with the solution. In most cases, your solution will tell you how to use the stone and solution in their instructions.

It's difficult to use, and the process is slow. There has to be a better way to test.
It's a 2x2 piece of porcelain tile cut from a sheet, which is a rip-off that doesn't work. DO NOT BUY.
Small scratch plate with a nice design.
Good.
These were exactly what I needed for acid-testing jewelry. They're small, but I didn't see the need for a larger stone, so I bought them. These are small enough to fit in a pocket, wallet, or test kit box.
On gold, I gave a false reading, which was useless.
If you don't want to spend money on an electronic model, this is the standard product to use.
For first-time collectors/testing, this is a great option. This product should not be used indefinitely. It is, however, useful for 50-minute tests. There are 100 pieces in total. I would suggest it to anyone who is just getting started.
