It's quite small - 3 is more like it. 25 x 5. But for holding beads, I absolutely adore it. Because it's sticky, you can easily drop your beads on it and pick them up. You don't want to dump too much so that the top ones fall off, but I put it back in the plastic and carry it around with me so that I don't lose any beads. I bought two for myself and two as gifts for my friends. It's a fantastic product, but it's a little on the small side (which I like). It's not eight. Unless there's a bigger one out there that would be better.
Grey is the color of the Beadsmith Sticky Bead Mat. It comes in two sizes: small and large. 5” x 5. "5 and "5" 5” x 3. I'm a big fan of both of them, and they're both 25".
I prefer to keep mine on a low-cost dollar basis. To keep a clipboard or something similar from becoming dusty, place a sheet of acetate plastic (which comes with the product) on top. You can also roll it up and wrap it in plastic. If it becomes dusty or dirty, simply rinse it off and pat it dry. It's a lot like those re-enactments. If that gives you an idea of what to expect, think sticky lint rollers. I love mine and think it's a great product.

Although you can easily scoop them off the pad with your fingers or a needle, the beads will not fall off, even if the pad is held at an angle (don't shake it). Unfortunately, cat hair adheres well as well. There are no remnants of the adhesive. The same technology is used to adhere the electrode pads of a TENS unit to skin, so if you're not moving much, you can use it on your arm as well. It's sticky on both sides. Even though I don't sew, the pad will stick to my arm and hold a small spool of thread, a few buttons, and a needle threader for as long as I need it. Crochet hooks are notoriously difficult to work with. Rinse or spray with water and allow to dry if it becomes unsticky or full of cat hair. I prefer the smaller size (3 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch), but Beadsmith also offers larger sizes. I haven't tried it in a moving vehicle, but I believe it could work, especially if it's mounted on the dashboard or in a non-moving location. fabric console in the middle. I'm very happy with the BeadSmith XTL-II I purchased. The 9937 Large Sticky Bead Mat is a large sticky bead mat with a lot of beads on it It's about the same size as an A4 8. U. S. On one side, it has wonderful measurement guides and slightly indented channels, similar to a bead board, and on the other, it has a sticky dotted measuring guide. Clearly, this piece is not adhesive, but it will keep beads from rolling off your work surface and onto the floor. It will also protect you from bumps when moving from one work area to another or putting things away for the day. br>br>I'm not sure how someone can claim it was distorted when they attempted to remove it from the packaging - It was very simple to remove the packaging. You'd have to rip it out of the package for it to be damaged. I can see how this would become very sticky if delivered to a very hot location, but given the material, I would wait until the mat had cooled down inside before peeling off the protective covering on both sides. If you're going to be moving this mat from place to place with a work in progress on top of it, you'll definitely need something underneath to support it. It's very flexible and won't get stiff or flat while you're moving. br>br>I debated buying this for a long time, but I'm glad I did. It will, without a doubt, make my beading life much easier!.
These sticky pads are fantastic, and I highly recommend them. They do what they say, and after a few years, I discovered that if the sticky wears away (I used soap on my first one) (Don't do that), you can turn them over and get years of use that way as well. I've been a seed beader for more than 15 years. These are the most effective I've ever come across.
I've been beading for a long time and wish I'd known about this product when I first started.
It's no exaggeration to say that this little mat is sticky. So much so that attempting to pick up an 11/0 bead bent my 10 beading needle. So, yes, it does exactly what it claims to do. too well. On top of the mat, I improvised by using a sorting tray. It worked out perfectly this way. Lifting the small tray, however, requires caution.
I've bought other sticky mats, and my beads really stick to them. The mat had a slight tackiness to it. I had laid out my beads in the pattern I planned to use (approximately 75 beads) when the mat slid partially towards the table's edge, causing my beads to roll off. What an embarrassment! If you want a sticky mat of this size, don't waste your money; instead, get a bunch of smaller ones and put them together. It's only a mat, after all. This is not a sticky mat.
I threw mine out. It had a sticky quality to it. I couldn't get the heads off because they were so sticky. With a beading needle, I had to struggle to remove the beads. As a result, it served no purpose for me. It did an excellent job of collecting everything in its vicinity, in my opinion. lint, hair, and other strewn about the place.
I cut it down to size. It's a lovely little mat. I placed it in a tin box designed to hold gift cards from Michaels craft store. It was perfectly adhered to the bottom. (It's most likely the same size tin as those sold in other stores. ) After trimming it a little with household scissors, it fit perfectly. Now that I have a small bead carrier, I don't have to worry about losing the beads or small bits of Goldwork chipping or bullion when I put my needlework project away for the night. If it stops being sticky, you can rinse it (just like the lint rollers) and it will become sticky again.
