While I have never used it to make sun catchers, I do know it is very easy to use. The Braille Institute is where I teach jewelry classes, and not only me but my students find it easy to use.
If I were you, I would replace the fishing line with clear fishing line. It's very stiff, so your items would have to be fairly heavy to swing nicely after being exposed to the elements. This wire would discolor outside, plus it's very stiff.
The necklaces and bracelets that I have made with it are perfect.
It may be possible to use 4mm beads on this wire, though I am unable to determine what hole size it has. A 3mm cable will not work however.

The Beadalon jewelry wire is my favorite to use for jewelry making. I use it faithfully for my projects and can't imagine working with anything else. Despite its fragility, it is very durable and of superior.
