Questions & Answers

Thanks for getting in touch with me about my interest in getting this machine to engrave names on optical lenses What do 39 and polycarobonte have in common?

During the writing process, I used both kinds of There will be no issues as long as you adjust the speed and power for your design or It takes less power to engrave than to cut, since engraving is normally less than 25 percent, and cutting takes 80 to 100 percent of the It gives you the ability to control the power level and the speed of the cut / engraving with this machine. The machine can cut almost a 16 X 12 inch sheet of steel. You will need to make modifications to the machine to do this, so please be mindful of that. Using this procedure, you should be able to cut an 8 by 6 inch square without any modification. The material does matter, as you have probably noticed. Generally, the thinner it is, the faster it will cut, and the thicker it is, the slower it will. The consequence of that is that you can engrave most metals and most woods. A thin piece of metal can be cut with the tool, but it's very fragile. In addition, make sure that you use a PRUE if you are going to use this machine! The following image is in black and white. Grey may only laser cut at 40% when black will laser cut at 100% if it takes a laser You will have very jagged lines if you use a black & white image. If you use a black & white image at the right speed, you will get an ultra smooth curve. Having a cheap cardstock for a "test" material is always a good idea, that is what I use myself. If you are concerned about the mm to inch conversion, try the card stock at a lower power level. This way, you can determine the design / file scale, determine if the design is correct, and determine if it is accurate. Aside from that, it is also cheap. In the event of a malfunction in your design or machine, you may save 10, 15 and even 40 bucks with a 05 cent cardstock per sheet. This is the second year I have had the machine, and I've made a vast array of items, including some glass etching. In my book, this machine is a 5. It is high quality and reasonably priced. It's true that there are better machines on the market, but nothing under $500. I am not a manufacturing business, but rather only a hobbyist who has produced 200+ successful items from my machine. I am 100% satisfied with my purchase, and if I were to purchase this machine for someone else, I would purchase *br>Please feel free to ask any additional question. I am sure that someone will respond

Are anodized aluminum parts compatible with this?

I think it will work well for anything that has been anodized. It works on anodized or painted aluminum as long as it is not unfinished aluminum since it is not anodized or painted. I know lots of people who use these for making box mods and engraving on cnc aluminum boxes.

Using this machine for etching glasses is possible. Would you like a pint or a shot glass?

A flat surface can be engraved, but not bottles or cylinders, so this machine is good for engraving flat glasses.

Would you let me know what dimensions I can use for the work material I have? Is it the ?

In order to burn evenly, you need a flat workspace, 7x10 if the vent is still in place. If it's removed, the burn area expands to 8x10 for a truly even burn. While it is possible to burn to a diameter of 12", it would not be as clean as it would be closer to the start. You may want to leave about 2cm or less in thickness if the object is laid out on a tray.

You may find this to be a good option if you know what you are doing
5/5

It's a little bit complicated here. A good machine is one that you should use if you know what you're doing. There's a possibility that you might go blind if you open the working chamber. Does it have an interlock that would shut it off? Definitely not! *You can go blind from lasers. If you understand the basics of lasers and have done your research on the subject and really think about the aspects that are inherently dangerous, then this may be the application It looks like a laser cutter, but is it a basic one? It is true. Do you think it takes about 40 watts to run it? The answer is yes despite the fact that I am unable to measure it. Can you tell me how good the mirrors are? There is nothing new about these power meters they are stained and scratched. You will hear a lot about analog and digital meters, and honestly, I do not think it matters. You really don't care if the test takes How much current do you need to cut a 4mm thick piece of black leather that is 15mA thick? Personally, I don't really think so. The primary concern for me is that when I use the same material or a material close to it I can set the power to a level that works. I could care less what number it So I am happy with % power, so yep, I am happy with it. And yes, if you have a good tech or are one and you can use this, then yes, you can use it. To get crisper images and smoother curves, it might be a good idea to upgrade the controller. I have a basic CO2 laser cutter and engraver with an "average" power. Whenever someone tells you that you need more power in order to achieve what you want, believe them. Putting production material into a box, pressing a button, and getting out your final product might work if you did it right, but THAT is not how it works. To be successful in business, you should always be well-versed in what you do. This is the first time I purchase something online and I The question that I shouldn't have bought another from someone else is not something I am questioning. You must know the type of cutting or engraving you intend to do, if the machine has the power to accomplish that, and be ready to adjust the settings to achieve the highest possible results. It is not impossible for this to work, it is a question of not making it impossible.

The dream of being an Orion Motor Tech Assembly Technician has always been in my heart
3/5

Upon receiving this item, I was pleased with its prompt arrival. Actually, the timeframe is really too short (2 days). Because it was incomplete, the storm came as fast as it did. Upon opening the product and unpackaging it, I noticed that the exhaust pipe was crushed and that the belt for the y-axis was torn. The axis is at a loose end. As a result of the loose belt, no drive could be provided for the y-axle Upon closer examination, the belt was found to be completely detached from one end. In my email to Orion Motor, I explained what had happened. I received photos of the machine and was told this is how it looks. I reluctantly disassembled the machine to reattach the belt. After that, the service technicians explained that the belt needed to be replaced. Originally the mirror was on the right-hand side of the bed, but I removed it It was right there in the middle of the y-axis that I attached the belt. Putting it back together, I realized that there was no tension on the belt, so it could not drive the y-axis It was obvious that there was a piece A second message was sent to orion explaining there was a missing pulley. Apparently the belt was already attached to the pulley, so I needed only attach it When I started getting really frustrated, I became very angry. Without knowing the pulley's location, they had no way of knowing. As if I was a moron, they treated me that way. As I was taking pictures of the Y-grain, I took pictures of the underside of it with my phone Rails that run parallel to an axis. In these, I spotted two holes for mounting, and this must be where the pulley would be located. The following photos were sent to me, and I asked if that was where the part was to go. As far as they were concerned, the part was My next step was to look throughout the machine for the part. I had of course already done this before. An offer of replacement product and/or a refund was made to me. Rather than replace, I chose to have it repaired. According to my guide, if I wanted to replace the 3'x4'x1" shape, I would need these dimensions. There is a 5' box 30 miles from our nearest UPS location. Once they receive the defective machine, they will send the new one, which could take as long as 7 days to arrive. I work from home and do not currently have a vehicle. Thus, I must find a ride to get it back to my house. I am hoping to have it returned by the end of the week at the latest. The time it takes for me to receive my new machine will be over two weeks. A second option was offered to me. It's true that I could run to a hardware store and buy some screws, but I can find a replacement part nowhere. The supplier does not have this type of screw in stock, so I can't get it. The supplier probably didn't attach this part to my machine because of this reason. I now need to figure out what to do. Despite my best efforts, I have not even been able to turn it on, I really have no idea about how well it does. Orion Motor Tech is the place for you if you want a machine that you will have to assemble yourself (because the assembler was incompetent and did not care), and then you have to troubleshoot the problems and you are told that you are wrong. It is too bad that they do not allow use of the machines. You should just think about how gorgeous it will look on your shelf. At the very least, it will make for an interesting conversation piece, regardless of how useless it will be. There are still more comments to come on this, so I'll keep adding to this. The hope is that they can redeem themselves.

I found it to be worth Using K40 Whisper, which runs the laser and Inkscape for design work, I had my first item made in less than 30 minutes
5/5

I threw away the software and used Inkscape and K40 Whisper together instead. The focal height of the laser was a key part of learning how to use this laser. MDF and plywood of 3mm thickness are regularly cut by me. As a result, I removed the exhaust cone from the cabinet so that the full area could be used for lasers. It is strongly recommended to use the air injector type head when working with wood to prevent flare ups.
