It appears to be polished genuine red carnelian. I'm not a geologist, just a crystal collector. With the exception of the turquoise, which is dyed white howlite and can be removed with acetone and a q tip, all of these stones appear natural and authentic.
Too small of an opening. I really need to get some jewelry string. You could use cord or lacing string to tie it so that it opens. Available at most art and craft stores, as well as possibly on Amazon.
6mm or small colored glass beads are inexpensive and enjoyable.
Glass, while not particularly attractive in person, struck me as cheap. I gave them back to you. Quality is poor.

This isn't a piece of obsidian. They're made of vinyl! I've been buying beads for years and I'm well aware that what I see is a fabrication!.
Everything was exactly as described. The beads are exactly the right size and counted at 100. They also include a stretch cord, which I really appreciate. Perfect for what I'm looking for, and at a lower cost than I could find at my local craft store.
The bad: Before I took off the plastic wrap, I could see the size differences! And it's not just a couple of times a year. 3 beads. Because it was so obvious, I quickly sorted sizes by eye and discovered that THREE HUNDRED AND SEVEN (37) were only 6mm! The remaining 63 beads were a mix of mostly 8mm and some 7mm (at this point, I was too 'over it' to keep measuring each bead). While the size difference is inconvenient, it isn't necessarily a deal breaker for me. But it's the vendor's unethical behavior that has me questioning whether the beads are even tourmaline, and I've tried again to educate myself on how to tell the difference between black crystals (tourmaline, onyx, obsidian). These beads have some strange blemishes around the holes, feel noticeably lighter than other tourmaline beads I own, and I detected uneven color in a few of them, but I'm no expert. I'm going to be back! What's sad is that if the size difference wasn't so obvious, I probably wouldn't have looked at these beads as closely.
They were smaller than I expected, but I believe I just received the smaller size; yes, the package contains 100 beads. I purchased 20 gauge jewelry wire, which fit perfectly through them! I created a slew of lovely rings. They're fantastic for jewelry making.

Excellent value for money! 2 threaders and a small spool of elastic were included in the package.
I could tell there were far fewer than a hundred Beats right away. Some of the beads appear to be made of plastic or to be of a low quality. I'm not going to open the package because I intend to return it for a complete refund.
