LG WM3488HW 24" Washer/Dryer Combo with 2.3 cu. ft. Capacity, Stainless Steel Drum in White

This is one of my favorite units. My son installed it in my kitchen so that I wouldn't have to go up and down the basement steps with my arthritis to get to my big old Kenmore washer and dryer. I've kept the old Kenmores for large items like blankets and such, and I'll say it was relatively simple to install because I didn't hear any negative language from my son while he was working. I did, however, purchase the anti-virus software. Because other owners suggested it, I bought vibration pads, but it doesn't vibrate. It's very quiet when it's on. The digital face is very self-explanatory and user friendly, so I didn't need to refer to the manual to get it to work. The instructions for running the unit on dry only are missing from the manual, but they can be found online. I didn't experience any of the unpleasant odors mentioned by some users. My knits were completely dry when they arrived, though my bulky sweaters were a little damp, which I preferred, so I hung them out to air dry. Despite the smaller loads and longer drying times, I simply set it and go about my business (or drink a glass of wine and read: ) ). I wish I had bought it sooner. It was also simple to register for a warranty online. This fantastic little combo unit comes highly recommended from me.

If you want to save space, this is a great option. This unit has been installed in our condo for a week and we are very pleased with it. Because there were so many conflicting reviews on combo units, I was very skeptical. But so far, there have only been two issues, both of which are listed below. But, for the record, it washes and dries all of the clothes inside in 2 hours and 20 minutes. I thought that was a little long at first, but then I realized that using a regular washer/dryer takes 1 hour and 30 minutes, so it's only 45 minutes longer. Plus, you won't have to return to move the clothes because it switches cycles and takes care of everything on its own. I'm not sure why these are so popular after using them; they make a lot more sense than buying two large dual units. br>br>Two issues to addressbr>If you're installing this in a kitchen or on old hardwood floors, you might want to invest in Washer Anti-Slip Mats. Anti-vibration and vibration are two terms that are often used interchangeably. VIBRAFIX Walk Pads (available on Amazon). I leveled the unit so it stopped shaking, but the extra high spin still vibrated our kitchen stove, which was right next to it. Because it's an old condo from the 1950s, the old floors have some movement. Those pads resolved 100% of the issue. br>br>The second issue is that when using high heat, the brand new rubber smells. Rubber from Japan and Korea has recently developed a strong odor that takes a long time to dissipate. It was the same with my new bicycle tires. I'm guessing it lasts a little longer or something, but you'll have to persevere. We turned off the high heat, adjusted the temperature to normal, and then applied fabric softener. After that, our clothes were fine, and the smell was almost gone after about ten uses, but they should really do that at the factory. We initially believed there was a problem with the unit, but we discovered that others had experienced the same problem and had recommended the same fixes. We were able to get it to work, so it's just a matter of usage/timing.

There is only one washer and dryer. I live in a small apartment with no room for a traditional washer and dryer. There are other brands of all-purpose cleaners available. I only needed one washer/dryer, but I chose LG because the Direct Drive Motor is covered by a 10-year manufacturer's warranty. This instills in me a high level of trust in the product. This all-in-one design is small but powerful. All of my requirements have been met by a single washer/dryer. I wash my clothes once a week on average. Despite the fact that this machine is the size of a dishwasher, it easily washes and dries all of my clothes in one load. Even though I frequently do laundry at night, the washing and drying operation is extremely quiet. I'm glad I have this machine because it means I don't have to go to the laundromat every week to wash my clothes.
