It's probably you, I believe. I know the fan is from China, but I've had no issues with this budget Range Hood and would recommend it to anyone on a tight budget.

I liked it at first, even though one of the screens was prone to falling out, but after about three years, it stopped working. It was far too soon. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> After speaking with customer service over the phone, they sent me a new motor, which was simple to install. Now the machine is fully operational. They don't get a "5" because it shouldn't have stopped working in the first place, but they do get a four because they quickly resolved the issue. proactively and did not charge me even though the product was no longer under warranty.
This was a great replacement for the 20-year-old, rusted-out range hood in our older home. I looked at hoods at big box stores that were much more expensive, and I'm glad I went with this one because of the reviews. It looks and sounds just like much more expensive models on display in big box stores. It was very simple to set up. I use a standard daylight bulb with a 75-watt LED equivalent. It produces a lot of light and is much less expensive to replace than the halogen bulbs that come standard with more expensive hoods. This fan's four exhaust options were appealing to me. I discovered that the old fan only exhausted to the unfinished attic when I took it down. not in the open. As a result, this is a bad idea. As a result, rather than cutting a hole in the roof and extending the vent to the outside, I chose to install it ductless with a charcoal filter.
We still had the wood-burning stove because the house was built in the 1970s and had never been remodeled. Because the kitchen is in the middle of the house, it is very dark. Laminate cabinets, laminate countertops, laminate flooring, black over-the-range microwave, etc. We had painted all of the cabinets white, removed the monstrosity of a microwave, and were now looking for something to fill the void. We began looking into range hoods because I liked the idea of not having to bend down to see what I was cooking on the back burner. We needed a budget-friendly hood that allowed for a rectangular duct at the top, but also from a brand I was familiar with, because any home project ends up costing more than you anticipated due to newly discovered issues. We chose this baby after looking at a variety of brands/models and comparing prices from various stores. She's been fantastic, to say the least. I may be exaggerating a little, but going from a dark, filthy, and completely broken/dead microwave to a bright, spacious range hood is a dream come true. I installed it in March or April 2017 and have been cooking with it every day since (I like the extra light when I cook on the stove). The fan works wonders, sucking up all of the steam. I haven't burned anything to the point where there is actual smoke that needs to be sucked out, but I only cook with cast iron, and whenever I cook steak or fry chicken, there is some smoke that rises, but it quickly dissipates. When I make pasta and boil the noodles (which happens at least once a week), I usually use the fan. It keeps the kitchen clean and prevents condensation from getting into the cabinets above the stove. br>I really like this thing, and I haven't had any problems with it. I would recommend it to anyone.
Stainless seams are not filled and appear to be a permanent mess as they wait for area grime to get in. The same fate awaits the bare lightbulb. The plastic plate that covers ductless louvers is too big and won't stay in place. It's also made of a generic, low-cost plastic that's likely the same for all finishes. Why not use duct tape instead? The outcome is the same. br>Sheet metal corner bends are sharp, and sheet metal screws with protruding sharp ends must be handled with care. tbr>Its best feature would have been the stainless steel finish. The spot weld scabs on the front finished surface, however, were not ground or polished. Finally, the motor whines at high speeds, and the irritating high pitch indicates that it is ineffective. a complete pos. br>This product was not designed or manufactured with pride.
This hood replaced an older almond-colored hood of the same size. br>br>The hood arrived with a small dent in the front edge, right in the middle. My wife thought it was inconspicuous, so I put it in. For about two weeks, I saw it every time I passed by. It's as if it vanished after that. It was only recently that I came up with the idea for this review. I believe the shipping box was not designed to be handled by UPS. br>br>The new power connection was easily stripped and secured to the existing plug after the breaker to the outlet that served the old hood was turned off. Please keep in mind that the hood is designed to be hardwired when it arrives. If you're installing something new that needs to be plugged in, you'll need to buy a plug adapter separately. br>br>Air was recirculated through the old hood. Because I enjoy making projects as difficult as possible, I installed a new vent in the roof. The roof vent knockouts have been firmly installed. It took a lot of force to knock them out, and the top of the hood warped as a result. Once installed, it is virtually undetectable. When the hood is vented through the roof, the included black plastic internal vent cover should clip on the outside of the hood. I was able to reach up into the duct and secure the plastic cover to the vent from the inside. On the front of the hood, I thought the black plastic looked cheesy. br>br>The hood appears sleek from a 6' tall vantage point. The underside looks unfinished from a 5' vantage point. That wasn't going to be a deal breaker for me. Keep this in mind because some options have a stainless steel finish on the underside. br>br>All-in-one All in all, it was a low-cost, quick, and effective upgrade for our new appliances.
So I took a look under the hood and found that the facia, buttons, and all external components were in good condition. It was the fan housing and filter that caused the problem. So I straightened out the bent parts and installed it in no time. br>br>The fan is excellent in terms of performance, appearance, and brightness when using a good LED bulb. It's something I'd buy again, but not on Amazon. I understand that using Prime saves me money, but I don't want the hassle of having to return items if they are damaged.
