In a nutshell, Despite being brand new, the little refrigerator we have in our kitchen next to the stove is too small to have an ice maker since it takes up too much freezer space (30 inches wide is a horrendous size) until we remodel the room. There are always a couple of people around my dinner table when all the family is in the same place. Thin ice cube trays don't go far when there is a large gathering. Buying this was a fantastic experience, it is easy to use and there are no problems at all. It takes less than 10 minutes for the first load of ice to be ready. As a result, I put it on when I start dinner, and by the time I am done, it should be almost full. As soon as I woke up the very next day, I filled my morning water jug and when I returned that night, it was filled pretty much from top to bottom. In just 24 hours, the ice maker can make 26 pounds! Even my fridge ice maker seems incapable of providing that amount of ice in a day. The fact that it is so powerful and lightweight at the same time is amazing to me. Considering that we are talking about less than one square foot, the real estate only measures about 13 inches by 9 inches by 12 inches. It is totally worth it when you are able to enjoy fresh, refreshing ice at the tip of your tongue. This is perfect for our bar countertop where guests can serve themselves and we don't need to worry about running out of ice. We often have family gatherings at our house during the holidays, and we did not have the freezer space to keep a lot of ice. The included ice bucket and scoop is a convenience that makes self-serve and being prepared that much easier. The ice isn't falling that fast since it was set up, so you can only hear the initial clink. It's so amazing how this ice maker works. Since we do not have an ice maker where our refrigerator is, we never hooked it Apparently, I was buying ice and it just did not taste good to me. We can use purified water, which I like. Despite its quick ice-making speed, it took less than eight minutes for me to make ice. I love how easy it is to set up and use. The features such as self-cleaning are appealing to me. It is made from strong materials and is very durable. Because it occupies so little counter space, it's very convenient for me. We use it frequently, and the ice comes out perfect to size and it seems to be working even better as time goes on. My favorite part of this ice is how easy it is to crunch. I am an ice cruncher and this ice is the easiest to crunch. I love it. I think it is made of very durable materials and is well worth the price. I won't need to buy ice anymore since I'm not purchasing it.
