What I needed just the right way
5/5

When I opened my lower tray drawer a few days ago, I found food that had been Near the middle and top of the refrigerator, there was only a limited amount of cold air circulation. I was able to use the freezer and the ice maker just fine. I was able to pinpoint the problem to this fan after doing a google search with the problem I was experiencing. We were able to install the replacement fan and replace it in 20 minutes, and our refrigerator did not need to be unplugged since the fan runs As soon as you unplugged the old, you connected the new and it started working it was good to go. I did not carry out a software update, and it ran without it fine.

GE Cafe fridge that I had broken was fully repaired
5/5

A GE Cafe refrigerator that I have owned for two years has always made noise on Inside the refrigerator I would hear the sound of a small prop plane throttling up, preparing to take off, however I never noticed what was causing the noise. Several other owners have confirmed this to be a super noisy fridge (which I attributed to being the cause). The evaporator in the fridge was freezing up when things started freezing in the bottom of the refrigerator. I initially thought a drain was blocked or something far worse had happened. When that happened, everything in the refrigerator compartment became solid from a middle level to a bottom level. There were few things that remained cold on top of the shelf. I was told that the fresh food temperature was over 55 degrees by the app. In addition, the dispenser froze up when it ran out of water. I should mention that the freezer was never impacted (it was kept at 0 My first step was to open the fresh food area and disassemble everything inside. I located the evaporator fan in the bottom. While the fridge was mostly disassembled, we defrosted it, reassembled it, and restarted it. The fridge fan finally cycled on and tried to run, but was very loud (it seemed like the bearings might be damaged). It was easier to find this fan online (a version newer than the OEM), order, and install than with the OEM. There's no need to replace the fridge. It works like a charm! There are now NO noises coming from the system. It wouldn't have occurred to me that such a small part could bring the whole fresh food compartment crashing down. It seems that the OEM fans had multiple issues that will be solved by the replacement. The fan I bought is perfect and I could not be more pleased with it. Compared to other reviews, it was quite easy to install (no drivers or software updates was needed).

A fan for the fresh food section of the refrigerator
5/5

Model # GFE29HMDAES. As a part of my refrigerator, I installed this genuine GE part myself. It was quite easy. Disconnect the refrigerator from the power source. Removing both of the drawers and shelves at the bottom is the best way to do it. Removing the bottom shelf slide housings is the first step. Removing the rear evaporator cover should be done with care. The old fan should be removed, and the new fan should have the silicone insulator. In addition to these steps, installation is also the reverse. Make sure that the slide housing on the left rear side of the lower drawer temperature setting assembly is properly aligned. It will take a 1/4" nut driver or socket and short extension to do the job. Ensure that you do not over tighten the There are some refrigerators (manufactured from 2014-2016) that have this feature The 2015) require a software update, mine did not. The Serial Number prefix I have is.

The firmware and motor are included in this kit My kit does not look like the one pictured here
5/5

It includes firmware as part of the motor kit. IF you have never upgraded the firmware of your refrigerator, then you will need this part. Especially if the fan on your refrigerator is an old model and you still have that fan, you need this firmware update since it keeps the fridge up-to-date. As an exception, if you have already installed a new fan and your current fan motor is the same model number as this fan, you should not need this kit and can choose to replace just the fan without the firmware update (cheaper fans without the firmware update you've probably seen). It is easy to upgrade the firmware. You need to plug it in and wait 15 minutes for it to start working. There are lights that let you know how the device is doing and what the instructions are. Don't be afraid to take charge of the situation. It took me about five minutes to remove all the food, shelving, and covers. It takes 30 seconds for a fan exchange to take place. It needs to be put back together again for five more minutes. You will need to wait 15 minutes after installing the firmware. As long as your refrigerator is the same as mine, you can finish the job with only a 1/4" nut driver. I have edited Neither the purchase I made nor the part I reviewed is included here. Instead of GE, I reviewed a kit from Parts Plus of Miami.

It saved me from throwing out a 7 year old GE refrigerator
5/5

Incorporates the following There is no need for me to update my software. Replace this part without removing the bottom drawer. The process was fairly easy, but make sure you have enough room to temporarily store all the drawers and shelves while you do it. It may take up to an overnight for the temperature to reach 40 degrees prior to your computer functioning normally again. I have the following symptoms with my refrigerator Ice cold deli drawer, upper food section that never reached 40 degrees (should be 59 degrees), lower drawer ice maker that was not producing ice, and when disassembled to diagnose, the propeller on the evaporator fan was binding when manually rotating the Specifically, I was looking for a direct replacement for my original item. My GE 29 cu ft oven was installed with WR60X10356. In the U. S. This is a white French door refrigerator with a glass door. In October 2013, the company purchased GFE29HGDWW. As my guide, I disassembled more than I needed to, as directed by a GE Service Manual. The first time I reviewed on-line, I would have saved myself some time and effort A video tutorial on the web.

A simple installation process
5/5

There is no need to update the firmware. At the time, we thought the issue was with the dispenser itself when the water in our 2 year old GE fridge froze. We later found out something else was wrong with the fridge. After that, we noticed that the items in the pull out drawer were freezing and the temperature of items higher up in the fridge was much less cold (especially milk). We were able to check on the freezer and it seemed to be working fine. After a quick internet search by my better half, it was clear that there was a problem with the We spent more than Memorial Day weekend on this and aimed to do the task ourselves instead of calling a repair technician. Our new fan arrived the next day, and we had the old one taken out and replaced within 30 minutes. The first part of the experiment has been successful. Now that the refrigerator temperature is back to normal, it is no longer cold. There is no need to update the firmware.

I found a solution for my cold food storage problem! Previously, I would like to thank the reviewers
5/5

The reviews I read helped me determine that the problem I was experiencing with my GE refrigerator's cold storage section was caused by this motor. The issue was resolved very easily by swapping out the board. I received the product as expected from this vendor. Therefore, the part does exactly what is described replacing it took less than 20 minutes, and it resolved the problem. You, the previous reviewers, are the ones who will receive the real review. Thank you for sharing your photos and tips!.
