Whynter CUF-110B Energy Star 1.1 Cubic Feet Upright Lock, Black Freezer

This was ordered so that I could store some food in the event of a pandemic. I'm 72 years old and don't particularly enjoy going out at the moment. I was very excited to purchase this freezer, but I was disappointed when the door would not close. (It's 6 inches away from closing. ) I double-checked that it was level, but it didn't help. I decided to remove the door and alter the way it opened in the hopes of improving things. However, turning the screws is impossible. I contacted Whynter, but they were unable to assist me. He advised me to contact the store where I purchased it and arrange for a replacement. There wasn't even a hint. There was no assistance at all. So I dialed Amazon's number, but they don't answer. Sure, I can make a return, but how am I going to pick it up and deliver it to UPS? I'm a 72-year-old woman with health problems who lives alone and ordered this because I'm on self-imposed quarantine and can't afford to lose $189. What a colossal letdown. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> I decided to try something else because I couldn't find a replacement and couldn't contact anyone. I put a drop of sewing machine oil on the screws, waited a few minutes, and then loosened them. The manufacturer, it turns out, tightened the hinge but didn't double-check that the doorpost was in the hole. The door shut once I was able to pop it back into its proper place. They had to be aware of this ad, so they taped the door shut, which was no easy feat. It was the manufacturer's sloppy work, not Amazon's, that caused the problem. Furthermore, their customer service was appalling. But, at the very least, it now works. I still don't think it's a good idea to try it.

As a result, depending on how warm my cab is, the inside temperature can and will vary dramatically. Coolers that were supposed to be filled with ice turn into coolers that are full of water and stale food. That's why I purchased this freezer in the first place. PERFECT SIZE FOR A COUPLE OF SINGLE SERVING MEATS, 6-INCHES 8 bottles of water that, once frozen, replace ice that simply melts and must be discarded, as well as ice cream for the first time in my trucking career! The freezer is fantastic, takes up very little space, and has made me as happy as a loud air horn!.

It performs admirably. However, don't expect it to last long. I rarely write reviews, but I've learned that the negative ones are often the most important, and I wish I'd trusted them sooner. When something works well, no one, including myself, complains. When a product fails, however, you can see how good a manufacturer is. br>br>I'm out of warranty, and the freezer was given to me as a gift for a brand new bar I built in my house. I understand that things don't last forever, but you'd think it would be at least a year and a half to two years. Perhaps this unit should be labeled as "Might work great for a long time, or might not last much longer than the warranty!" Be wary of the buyer! " I'm sure they'd lose a lot of money. . . . So, when I called Whynter, they were extremely courteous, both over the phone and via email. After a list of possible issues was presented to me, I replied that none of them applied and that my freezer was cold but not frozen. After a few more emails back and forth, I'm convinced they didn't read them or didn't give a damn, because when I finally responded: "In light of the fact that you: "All positive and negative feedback is reviewed by Senior Management," let them know that I agree with the other reviewers who said Whynter customer service was polite but completely useless, and that there are other manufacturers who truly care about their customers. Their response was as follows: Thank you very much for your response. We regret that the unit is not freezing and thank you for your feedback. Despite the fact that the unit is out of warranty, we would be happy to start troubleshooting with you. " They then proceeded to give me some of the same instructions that I had already told them were ineffective! br>br>No matter how negative my feedback was to them about my freezer not working after being in the exact same location and untouched for two weeks, they would just respond with the same things to check that I had already checked and told them about two emails before. Despite my repeated warnings: "You may cancel my ticket because I just placed an order for a new freezer to arrive in time for the Super Bowl on Sunday. " I'd be very disappointed if I had to wait another day or two of emailing back and forth and didn't have a freezer for the game. " They responded again, thanking me and instructing me to troubleshoot the same problems!br>br>I really wish I had paid more attention to the other one and two star Amazon reviews. I sincerely hope that I can assist someone looking for a freezer by steering them away from this terrible product; why can't a company simply apologize and do the right thing? After all, if their product is as good as they claim, replacing a defective one like mine should be extremely rare.

We received this item from Amazon and it worked for one week. I've never had to write a negative review before, but I've also never had something so personal and devastating happen because of a product. We bought it solely for the purpose of storing breast milk for a few months. They could only offer to replace the freezer because I had lost my entire supply. I have no space in there because I am currently unable to meet my son's demands. The representative I spoke with about this item provided poor customer service, immediately put me on hold, and had lapses in conversation. They should refund a grieving mother's money and provide free formula in place of the milk that was lost. Save yourself the heartache by not purchasing this freezer for the storage of breast milk or the freezing of any expensive foods.
