It's a lemon, as you might have guessed

Out of the box, it was defective. GE does warranty repairs, but they take WEEKS! I've been buying and relying on GE appliances for more than 40 years. Until this year, I had never had a problem. I bought two GE appliances this year that had problems, and I discovered that the GE Appliance Division had been sold to Haier Co. The company is Chinese. As in the Republic of the Peoples! As a result, GE Appliances is currently experiencing major quality problems. THE PRODUCTS FROM KOREAN COUNTRIES ARE MUCH BETTER! Save yourself a lot of heartache by investing in higher-quality appliances. The quality of GE products is deplorable.
