Yes, I froze meat, ice cream, and ice cubes. Surprisingly, there was no frosting forming in the freezer.
It has a stainless steel finish, but it's a different grade of stainless steel than you'd normally find. It's made of 430 stainless steel rather than 304.
It self-locks, so when you close it, it doesn't stay open. There isn't even a lock on the door.

It took nearly ten minutes to unpack it, but it was well worth the effort. Perfect condition, and I couldn't have asked for a more modern appearance. It quickly cooled down and is far more spacious than I had anticipated (see attached photos). I won't be using the crisper, but it can be removed for more storage space, and both the fridge and freezer doors can hold quite a bit. I'm very pleased with this purchase; if you're thinking about making one, DO IT. Later, you'll be grateful to me. )br>br>***UPDATE: ***UPDATE: ***UPDATE: ***UPDATE: ***UPDATE: It's been about 4 months, and the fridge is still going strong. Nothing compares to how well it keeps things cold and how well ice cubes stay frozen. br>br>If you found this review useful, please select "helpful" from the drop-down menu below.
UPDATE: MAY 27, 2019 This refrigerator is humming louder and louder all the time. Even though it's in a neighboring room and I'm wearing earplugs, it's still unbearably loud. br>The freezer is constantly frosty, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless they plan to keep it in their garage for refrigeration only. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> I had to reduce my rating to three stars after using the refrigerator/freezer for six months. It's a LOT of noise. It hums so loudly that I can hear it through the walls, and it's in the next room. br>It's also unfortunate that such a high-priced mini fridge/freezer is made of such low-quality plastic. The freezer, as well as the refrigerator, gets extremely cold. My only complaint about the refrigerator is that there is always a layer of moisture on top of everything. The refrigerator sweats on the inside because the motor, which is located in the back/bottom of the refrigerator, gets extremely hot. br>br>THIS FRIDGE HUMS VERY LOUDLY. I wouldn't put it in your room or dorm if you're thinking about it. (It didn't hum loudly at first, but now that it's been plugged in for a week, it does. ) Relocate to a different room in the house UPDATE: The humming has become unbearably loud after six months of use, especially at night when it travels through the walls or floor [or both], and it's located across the hall, on a platform rather than against the wall. ) The reviewer who claimed that his house guests couldn't stand the frig's loud humming wasn't exaggerating. br>br>After the first night, I had to unplug the freezer to melt the ice and frost off the bottom. Reduced the temperature by a couple of degrees. That should do the trick. (Six months later: The freezer's temperature is set to MEDIUM, and all four walls are covered in 1/4" of snow cone-like ice. )br>br>After a few months, I'll update the durability. br>(The top is made of low-cost plastic. ) Nothing heavy can be stored on top of it. My college apartment mini fridge was 100% metal on the outside thirty years ago. THAT was durable. THAT was 100% metal on the outside thirty years ago. THAT was 100% On top, I kept my 30 pound practice guitar amp. That amount of weight was too much for this refrigerator to handle.
br>Likes: br>Likes: br>Likes: I bought it primarily to store frozen foods and other small items. It goes well with my other dorm fridge, which has more shelf space and a decently sized freezer compartment (looks like a freezer but doesn't actually work as one!). ) Simple instructions and set-up; (Note to other manufacturers: this is a big deal. ) That is an area where you are falling short. )br>Dislikes: )br> So far, there have been none. br>Agreement: br>Agreement: br>Agreement: br>Con WYSIWYG. Despite its slightly higher price and smaller size than comparable products, I find it useful for freezing things. I'm not going to deduct a star because I was aware that it was smaller before I purchased it. I would pay the same price if it were slightly larger. br>Caveat emptor: I reiterate my previous criticisms of compact refrigerator/freezer descriptions that use deceptive terminology such as "Chilling Section" vs. "Freezer Section. " "Freezer" is a word that comes to mind when I think of food storage. "A manufacturer may use technically restrictive language to describe their product, but they commit what is known as a Sin of Omission - they fail to mention something important. They might not say that it won't get to a certain temperature; The majority of people anticipate a freezer, not a cooling bin! br>My other compact fridge/freezer is really more of a chilling compartment, and after about a month, it couldn't truly freeze anything. I made a blunder by failing to complete my homework. The CRF321SS from EdgeStar is a 3. 1 Cu. Ft. It's a keeper, the Dorm Sized Energy Star Compact Fridge/Freezer!.
1 Cu. Ft. EdgeStar Refrigerator is a small refrigerator that has a lot of storage space. EdgeStar is synonymous with high quality and long-lasting performance. I have the smaller EdgeStar'stand-alone' freezer, which has worked flawlessly so far. It has been nearly five years since it has been free, and it is still going strong. Since my 'nickname' was less expensive, I decided to use it. After less than four years of service, the brand's refrigerator gave up. than- I chose the EdgeStar brand for a replacement small refrigerator because of its excellent performance. This turned out fantastically- Double-boxed and isolated packaging is used to keep the product safe. As a result, the EdgeStar refrigerator was in excellent working order when it arrived. I followed the instructions and let it sit for two hours in its new location to allow the coolant to'settle. ' My goodness, it was cold and ready to take in a full inventory of food in just a few hours, both in the freezer and the refrigerator compartment. 'Taylor Precision Products Classic Series Large Dial Thermometer (Freezer/Refrigerator)' was the item I purchased. I like to'see' the actual temperature in the refrigerator just to be sure that everything is kept at the proper temperature, so I bought a set of two' that are also sold on Amazon, one for the freezer and one for the refrigerator. The refrigerator was set to a solid 35 degrees, and the freezer was set to zero degrees to keep my frozen item perfectly frozen, with the dial set to'medium. ' The look, build quality, and performance of the 3 have all wowed me. 1 Cu. Ft. I highly recommend both the brand and this product, which is a small EdgeStar refrigerator.
