br>br>I came across this Thor unit while looking at 36-inch ranges. I was hesitant at first because there were few reviews; Thor is essentially a Chinese version of the Viking series at a fraction of the cost; I had considered other brands like Samsung, but I didn't want the electronics connectivity they offered. Because it was controlled by a smart phone and digital keypads, I assumed a smart device like that would fail. I wanted something that would last a long time, so I decided on a traditional gas range with manual valves. I also desired a range with handles that faced outwards from the cabinets rather than outwards from the counter. br>br>In the end, I chose this Thor unit over a Viking unit, which cost $4k at the time, or a GE unit, which cost about $3k at the time, because I figured I wouldn't lose much money if it didn't work. This unit has surprised me by performing admirably. Heavy-duty packaging was used to ship the unit on a pallet. My contractors found the installation to be simple, but follow the instructions carefully. br>br>The unit should not be flush with the counter top in any way. This is a fire hazard because it allows items to fall into the burners from the counter top. You'll notice that there are screws all around the unit to prevent you from mounting it flush to the counter top. Before you begin, please read your manual. br>br>After a year, the unit is still in excellent condition. We have enough stovetop burners to prepare large Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. It's a great deal, and we haven't had any issues with it. The cast iron grates are attractive, and the stainless steel is easy to clean. This unit comes highly recommended from me to anyone looking for high-quality performance on a budget.
This was purchased for a kitchen remodel, and it is a lovely stove that serves as the kitchen's focal point. It has the super low simmer burners, and they weren't working properly after I installed it, so I called Thor customer service, who were very responsive and helpful, and quickly discovered that I had one of the burner rings installed incorrectly, and it now works perfectly. For the price, this is a fantastic stove with excellent customer service.
This is a nice stove that definitely gives the impression that it's a pro style, which is exactly what you're looking for. I have a couple of issues that I'm hoping the manufacturer will address, but overall, I think it's a nice stove. I would recommend buying it, but there are a few things that could be improved: the first is the location of the gas line input, which is directly in line with the support feet, requiring your support structure to run in the opposite direction. Second, it's difficult to get the grates and burner lids aligned properly to put them back on after cleaning, and it's a pain; it would be nice if the pans under the burners were removable. Third, when you turn off the knobs, the igniter will sometimes stick and continue to click until you pull it out. Last but not least, the knobs are arranged incorrectly. The front burner should be on the left, and the back burner on the right, as shown in the pictures. You select the incorrect option, and if you observe people using it for the first time, they will do the same.
I was looking for a higher-end stove that wouldn't break the bank, and this one fit the bill perfectly! We bought it in May but didn't get around to installing it until the end of our kitchen remodel. I'm blown away by how well it performs and how well it's built. We aren't finished with our renovation yet, but we are getting so many compliments on it. I cook a lot, so I needed something that could take a beating and a stove that allows me to have multiple burners going at the same time. br>br>It was a breeze to install. We did have to make some cuts to our cabinet to make it fit, but they were very simple cuts. It also helped that we were installing new cabinets, so we simply ordered extra matching trim pieces and cover panels to compensate for the changes we were making when we ordered them.
After three months of daily use, the Thor 36-inch x 36-inch x 36-inch x 36-inch x Our expectations for the inch rangetop have been exceeded. We had the rangetop professionally installed and converted to propane as part of a kitchen renovation, and it worked flawlessly. Adjustable feet on the bottom allow for easy, level installation in the cabinet. The burners have a wide operating range and perform well on low flames. When the burners are turned on, the burner controls are brightly lit, which is a useful safety feature. The simmer burner (front and center) comes in handy. The black enameled top pan can be cleaned easily with vinegar, and the burners can be easily removed for thorough cleaning. Because the steel grates are heavy, cooking pans and pots sit flat and do not slide when bumped. The 36- With enough clearance to cook on adjacent burners, the inch top can also accommodate the largest of canning pots or an iron grill pan. The unit was well-packed and arrived on a wooden pallet. In comparison to other comparable but more expensive rangetops, I believe this rangetop offers excellent value.
It has gotten a lot of positive feedback. Our home is still in a suffocating state! We purchased a propane gas conversion kit. I'll add newer photos as they become available.
I replaced a Viking cooktop with this Thor, and it's ten times better so far. I would highly recommend this cooktop; it's been installed for about a month. The Viking is a much heavier unit, but it's always had issues.
They don't stand behind their product; I've contacted them several times and sent them emails, but they have yet to respond. After 6 months, they finally dispatched a technician to inspect the stove. The dealer has now informed me that they are unable to obtain parts for my stove from Thor customer service. This isn't even close to being worth it. Choose a reputable brand with excellent service and warranty support!.
