I was looking forward to writing this review for this hot plate. I needed one, so I went to Amazon to look for one, where I found a slew of reviews for a variety of hot plates. After doing some research, I realized that a hot plate would be better suited to 'warming things up' rather than actual 'cooking. ' So, since the more expensive ones said the same thing, I ordered this one because of the low price, $17. 00 seemed insanely low for a double burner. So I ordered it, and it arrived two days later, and I immediately put it to use, expecting a major disappointment. All I can say is that I am pleasantly surprised. This hotplate heats up just like my electric stove and does so in a fraction of the time. I quickly made an omelet, boiled water, cooked chicken, and did a variety of other tasks, just as I would on my stove. I'm not sure why a few reviews claimed it couldn't boil water or took a long time to heat up; I'm not sure why. Is it switched on and plugged in? This is a steal because it heats up quickly and boils water quickly.
It heats up quickly, fits right atop the gas burners, and provides two cooking areas instead of the single one offered by the competition. Love it!.
I use this stove on a daily basis and it is fantastic. It quickly brings water to a boil. I've done a variety of things with it, including: Fish, vegetables, rice, eggs, a turkey melt, pasta, and more are all on the menu. I strongly advise you to do so.
It does the job well, and I wouldn't hesitate to use it at home. You wouldn't get two larger pots for the element spacing, but you'd get plenty of heat for what you can fit in.
This is a fantastic product; I was able to cook my pasta, sauce, and vegetables just as quickly as I could on a gas stove. When you turn the dial to 1, the unit begins to heat up. I was able to control the temperature using the dial, which ranged from 1 to 10. The number 5 denotes the hottest and highest temperature. By setting the dial to 1, I was also able to keep my vegetables warm. I turned the dial past 1 and unplugged the unit after cooking to ensure that it was turned off and would begin to cool down. To prevent your pots from tilting and spilling and causing injury, place the unit on a stable and flat surface. This was a fantastic purchase that went above and beyond my expectations. The money spent was well spent.
All of them are a lot more expensive than this one. All of them are outclassed by this one, which is significantly less expensive. Heats up quickly and stays at the desired temperature.
The product's only flaw is that it does not heat water. It got the job done, but it took a lot longer than I expected. I had the water on high for more than an hour and it still hadn't boiled. However, for the money, this is a good product.
After a year and a half of daily use, mine was still in good shape. However, when I used iron frypans, I began to get small shocks from it. Eventually, I got a good one today, so I threw it out right away. That was my own personal experience. It could be a one-off, but I feel compelled to issue this cautionary statement.
