I bought these to replace my stock Gibson 57 Classic and 57 Plus pickups. As a recap, I was wiring and replacing the pots in them from the stock units The split coil push arrangement is compatible with standard Les Pauls. Due to the fact that the 57 pickups were four-conductor, I encountered all kinds of problems. When I contacted Gibson, I received the schematics, however none of them worked. I decided to purchase the Seymour Duncan APH-3 These Acoustic Pickups are the new Alnico II Pro Slash Set Humbuckers. I am very pleased with them! They sound great both clean and In many ways, these pickups are similar to stock pickups, but they do seem to have a much better sound. Their construction is Alnico II, which is the same as the 57. The company from which I bought them was also very satisfactory to me. It was a simple and easy process from start to finish! Here are some options that I recommend if you want a humbucker pickup that sounds clear and clean. BUFFER -.
Probably I would sound a lot like them in my review. I bought a Superchamp with the intent of playing it on my Fender Superriff. It sounds almost the same as Slash's tone on Appetite for Destruction. I have used it with Amplitube on my iPad and it sounds just as good on headphones as it does via speakers. In fact, they work very well with the PC version of Rocksmith 2014. On my ESP Eclipse II custom (mahogany body with maple neck), I use 500k pots for both volumes, a single 500k pot for tone, and an orange drop and treble bleed kit. There are no coil split options for these pickups because they are regular humbucker pickups with pushback cloth and braided shield styles. The purchase has been made and I am so happy! My gaze has been fixed on them for years.
My story is below. Since I bought my Ibanez ART400 with active pickups 10 years ago, I have wanted a Gibson Les Paul my entire life, but I just can't bring myself to spend the money on one. Then I went ahead and ordered everything I was sure I needed after months of research. It was my intention to coil split the humbuckers to get the fender sound when desired. It took me a lot of effort to purchase the CTS push pull pots, upgrade the passive pickups to 500K, etc.
As I opened the pickups, I found out that they were not 4 wire, but single conductor. Please bear in mind that the wiring diagram that comes with it is for four There was no way to coil split, so I had to do work on the fly to change wiring, etc. The push pull pots were still functional, but I had to modify the wiring, etc. As a result of this lack of clarity, I am only rating As a result, I had to replace the old pots and wire the tone knob with a capacitor (1 volume, 2 tone knobs) and a 3 way switch. There is no doubt that the sound is amazing. If you play it through an Ibanez with a half step down tuning and some chorus applied, it's an AFD sound. As it turned out, I had to work on the project all day, I tried soldering for the first time, but it was worth it.
Meanwhile, I tried--but it failed. A little hum comes from the pickups, but isn't loud enough to be bothered by it. I'm not sure if this is normal or my wiring error.
I have a chibson les paul and I went for the 50s wiring. To describe it simply, it has that old time vintage sound with attitude. I'll admit, I do miss my super distortion, and I can't get it to scream, so I wouldn't recommend it for that darker beefier metal scream most fast paced players like. The pups I bought won't be put up for sale, but in the end, I won't regret buying them.
These are the best pickups I've ever used. I purchased them for the first time in my 13 years of playing guitar. They are truly outstanding. Setting up the pickups was very easy. Just make sure you set the "live" wire to the pickup selector, and the silver mesh (ground wire) to any metal part of the guitar, for example the tone pot and or volume pot. This solder iron is easy to set up and use, just make sure it is warm before working with it.
It's evident that a difference in sound and even a subtle durability improvement can be heard. This purchase has been a good investment for me and I could recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their guitars.
installed them in a 2020 Les Paul Standard and am very pleased with the results. With the amp turned all the way up, they are very hot and sound the best. I will definitely purchase them again if they are offered at a discount again.
This SLASH signature Pickup Zebra set is a must-have. These look great in my PRS customized 24, I love them! It costs $180 to purchase a PRS 59/09 pickup. $200. 00 for each, which is a total of $2100. 00. With a set price of only $99, you get more value for your money!.
